Pharmacom integration helps pharmacy work even more efficiently
Service Apotheek Zuiderpark is located in The Hague. This pharmacy uses Pharmacom by Pharmapartners. We spoke with Jan van Deursen, pharmacist, owner, and chairman of the SAHEL foundation. This is a cluster organisation for Medicom and Pharmacom users in the Haaglanden region, connecting pharmacies and general practices.
Queue management system integration with Pharmacom
At Apotheek Zuiderpark, they have been using the Wachtkamerschermen® queue management system integrated with Pharmacom since February 2024. Jan explains:
“Previously, patients were called to a counter and asked for their date of birth. Sometimes we also had to ask an additional security question to open the correct patient dashboard in Pharmacom. With the integration, we can skip a step. As soon as we call the patient, the patient dashboard opens automatically. You already know who is coming to your counter, so you no longer need to ask for the date of birth. This saves time!”
Working more personally
Jan does emphasise that caution is still needed, as someone else may also collect medication on behalf of the patient. However, in general, you can be much more personal:
“I like that we can work in a more personal way. It’s nice for us, but also for the patients. They usually enjoy being recognised.”
Waiting time reduced by an average of 40%
Statistics show that over the past eight months, more than 5,500 patients have been served using a collection code. They also show that the waiting time for patients with a collection code is on average 40% shorter than for those without one.
A pleasant way of working
Initially, they started with an existing ticket dispenser already present in the pharmacy. However, this did not work entirely as desired, so Jan decided to purchase a ticket dispenser from Wachtkamerschermen®. Furthermore, Jan is positive about the queue management system and its integration with Pharmacom:
“The staff say it’s a pleasant way of working. In our pharmacy, we can now work in a much more personal way, and things run smoothly. I would definitely recommend choosing this integration!”
